Description
This photo captures a brief magical moment when a light ray hit a cliff face at sunrise. The other rock formations were running east to west and only this particular cliff was facing east at the right angle. When the sun ray hit, it was magical! When I take photographs of sunset or sunrise, I always make sure I look at both directions. Sometimes the best scenery is away from the sun!
Monument Valley is a region of the Colorado Plateau characterized by a cluster of vast sandstone buttes, the largest reaching 1,000 ft above the valley floor. It is located on the Arizona/Utah border, near the Four Corners area. The valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation and is accessible from U.S. Highway 163.
